Former MLA of Jharia asked for euthanasia, Sanjeev Singh filed a petition in the court and said, if you cannot allow treatment, then give death

Ranchi: Former Jharia MLA Sanjeev Singh has sought euthanasia.

By filing a petition in the court, he has written that if he cannot be treated, he cannot be sent for better treatment, then give euthanasia.

For euthanasia, on behalf of Sanjeev Singh, his lawyer Mohammad Javed has filed in the court of Dhanbad District and Sessions Judge.

Former Jharia MLA Sanjeev Singh has been lodged in Dhanbad jail since April 2017.

His health deteriorated on 11 July 2023.

After ill health, he was admitted to SNMMCH from Dhanbad Mandal Jail.

While admitted to the hospital, it was said that he had fallen from the chair in the jail after which he got injured.

Sanjeev Singh had filed a bail application on the ground of his ill health.

After this, the High Court also refused to give him relief on medical grounds.

The court of Justice Rangan Mukhopadhyay dismissed the petition of Sanjeev Singh after hearing both the sides.

A medical board was constituted to examine the health of Sanjeev Singh.

The board denied any serious injury or illness to Sanjeev.

The board told that the applicant Sanjeev Singh is medically fit.

The medical board constituted by the court for his treatment had advised him to send him to RIMS after investigation.

Sanjeev had refused to be admitted to Ranchi RIMS.

His wife and family members wanted him to be treated in a big private hospital in Dhanbad.

The family is ready to bear its entire cost as well.

She expressed apprehension that her husband was not being treated properly under the pressure of the present government.
