Former CM Hemant Soren withdrew his petition from SC

Ranchi/New Delhi: Hearing on the SLP (Special Leave Petition) petition of former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren was held in the Supreme Court on Monday. During this time, a request was made by Hemant Soren’s advocate to withdraw the petition, which was accepted by the court. This case was listed in the division bench of Supreme Court judges Justice Surya Kant and KV Vishwanathan.

Advocate Pragya Singh Baghel presented his side on behalf of Hemant Soren. In fact, Hemant Soren had filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the order of the Jharkhand High Court in which he was not allowed to attend the assembly session.

Hemant Soren is in judicial custody on money laundering charges. He had sought permission from the PMLA Court and the High Court to attend the budget session of the Assembly this year. But both the courts had rejected his petition, refusing to allow him to attend the session.
