Food Safety officer makes surprise checks in sweets shops in capital

Ranchi: The district administration has launched its drive to prevent the use of adulterated food materials in making of sweets and other eatable items in wake of Diwali.

On the directions of Sadar SDO a team of the district administration led by food safety officer SS Kullu inspected various sweet shops in the main road and Kanke areas.

At the famous Punjab Sweet House the team collected the samples of panner, khoya, Bundi, Peda and other sweets and also looked into the quality of colours being mixed in the sweets. In the examination all the items turned out to be satisfactory.

The team also conducted inspection at various other sweet shops in main road and Kanke area. On the other hand in the Sainik Market the mobile food safety van created awareness among the people over cleanliness and safety measures.
