Fierce fight between lawyers in Hazaribagh, Bar Council asked for report, preparation for strict action

Hazaribagh: After the Hazaribagh Bar Association elections, there has been a fierce fight among the lawyers. In fact, following the instructions of the Council in Hazaribagh district, lawyers voted for the posts of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer and other posts.

After the voting, during the counting of votes, as soon as Bar Council member and presidential candidate advocate Rajkumar alias Raju was declared victorious by 12 votes, many advocates became agitated and started fighting among themselves.

Many lawyers also got injured in this incident. Jawahar Prasad was the nearest rival of advocate Rajkumar alias Raju, who won by a slim margin of 12 votes. After the incident of assault, an FIR has been lodged by both the parties. In which the police are investigating. 

Meanwhile, Jharkhand State Bar Council member Manoj Kumar has written a letter to the council. Manoj Kumar has demanded the Chairman of the State Bar Council to take cognizance of this matter and investigate the entire incident and take action against the lawyers involved in the fight. He has said in the letter that the conduct of the lawyers of the District Bar Association is deteriorating during the elections. The legal profession is suffering losses due to this.

Jharkhand State Bar Council President Rajendra Krishna said that he has received information about the incident of fighting between lawyers during the counting of votes in Hazaribagh Civil Court premises. After which he has asked for a detailed report of the entire incident and video of CCTV footage from the Election Observer. 

Council President Rajendra Krishna has also sought the names of the lawyers involved in the assault incident. After the Observer’s report comes, the council can take strict action against the lawyers who assault.
