FCI is selling wheat and rice through e-auction

Ranchi: Food Corporation of India sells wheat from the available stock at predetermined prices from time to time through the Open Sale Scheme.

So that the supply of wheat in the market can increase.

Also, prices can be controlled during lean season.

Jharkhand FCI gave this information in a press conference.

To reduce the rising prices of wheat and rice, Government of India through Food Corporation of India is selling wheat and rice throughout the country through e-auction from the Central Pool Stock every week under OMSS (D) to registered buyers.

At present, wheat is being sold in the open market at the price of wheat 2150/- per quintal and rice 2900/quintal.

Earlier every week, Food Corporation of India had invited tenders from various warehouses of the corporation across the country for the sale of 2 lakh metric tonnes of wheat.

From the coming week it has been doubled to 4 lakh metric tonnes.

At present the Food Corporation of India was inviting tenders for the sale of 7000 metric tonnes of wheat every week, which has now been increased to 11,500 metric tonnes in view of the increasing demand for wheat in the market and the demand of the local millers/flour mill associations of the state.

Whereas earlier only 10 MT to 1000 MT of rice could be purchased per buyer in each auction, this has now been increased from 1 MT to 2000 MT.

The auction process is being done through online website www.valuejunction.in/fci.

In this regard, the corporation is inviting tenders every Friday.

Registration of millers, flour mills, wheat growers, rice growers and rice traders for purchase of wheat and rice is done by MJunction Services Ltd. It is being done on the website http://www.valuejunction.in/fci.

Mainly Deputy Manager FCI Abhishek Sinha, Hemant Kumar Jaiswal, Devendra Bais, Ashish Kumar and Tulsi Ram were present in the press conference.
