Favourable film policy is attracting Film makers towards Jharkhand: Sanjay Kumar

Ranchi, May 21: Principal Secretary IPRD Govt of Jharkhand Sanjay
Kumar said that thanks to the favourable film policy and the beautiful
locations and landscapes film makers are being attracted towards the
state.
He said the recently released Vidya Balan starrer Begum Jaan showed
the picturesque locations of the state for the first time on a bigger
canvas and now the movie ‘a death in the ganj’ has depicted the
beautiful scenic beauty of Mckluesiganj.
Addressing a press conference at the Suchana Bhawan here along with the
cash and crew of the movie, he said that the film would take the
locations of the state on an international scale which in turn would
also draw tourists to Jharkhand.
On the occasion the screening of the movie was also done while on
behalf of the government a cheque of Rs 31.25 lakh was handed over to
the cast and crew of the movie.
Director of the movie and noted actress Konkana Sen Sharma said that
the movie which is based on Mckleusiganj would release in the country
on June 2. She said that the film helped her bagged the best director
award in the Newyork Film Festival. She said that the film is being
eagerly waited for its release in India.
Producer of the movie Abhishek Choubey said that his initial education
had taken place in Jharkhand so this film is also special for him. The
cast lauded the weather and beautiful landscape of the state.
The movie which is based on a murder which took place in the area
stars Vikarm Massey, Kalki Kochlein, Gulshan, Ranbir Shourey and the
late Om Puri in vital roles. Over the last two years the film has
participated in various film festivals across the world.
Those who were also present on the occasion included IPRD Director
Rajeev Lochan Bakshi and producer of the movie Ashish Bhatnagar.
 

 

6 TPC ultras killed over dispute over levy

Hazaribagh, May 21 : Six ultras belonging to the Tritya Prastuti
Committee were killed in an internal dispute which took place in
Keredari and Hendegir forest areas falling under Barkagaon block of
this district.
The deceased ultras have been identified as zonal commander Sagar,
Manish Johnson and Sagar Munda. The identity of the other killed
ultras was yet to be ascertained. Police sources said that the ultras
managed to take the bodies of their associates alongwith them deeper
into the forests. A police team which later reached on the spot
recovered some empty cartridges and naxal uniforms from the spot.
Hazaribagh SP Anup Birthare said that the
incident took place around 0200-0300 hrs in the area. He said after
hearing the gun shots the local police ensured proper safety before
reaching the spot.
On the other hand the local villagers who also reached on the spot
rather claimed that apart from the six bodies they also saw three
severely injured ultras. They said that incident took place as a
dispute between the ultras over distribution of the money collected as
levy and extortion.
