Ramgarh: Uday Shankar Singh, chairman of Jharkhand Assembly’s Environment and Pollution Committee, visited Ramgarh with committee members and held a meeting with district officials on Thursday evening. During a detailed discussion that continued until around 8:30 pm, Singh reviewed complaints and ongoing issues related to local industries.
In an interview with Reporter Post bureau chief Umesh Sinha, Singh said the committee will investigate complaints filed by residents of Bihar Foundry area. “Providing facilities to the public is the government’s responsibility. I have ordered a thorough investigation into every point raised in the memorandum submitted by villagers,” he said. He added that the committee will ensure justice for affected residents and monitor the factory’s compliance with pollution norms.
Singh also confirmed complaints regarding other factories in the district and directed officials to conduct inspections and report back to the assembly committee. “Factories must operate within legal limits. My focus is to provide necessary facilities and safeguard public health,” he said. Residents near Bihar Foundry handed Singh a memorandum requesting action, and he assured that all steps would be taken according to pollution standards.
