Ranchi: Police have arrested Salman Khan, an active member of the banned TSPC, from the forests of Dhamdhamia, while two other insurgents managed to escape under the cover of dense jungle and darkness. Salman and his associates are accused of extorting money and creating terror through firing in Kholari area, near the Chhatra district border, on 16 December 2025.
Considering the severity of the incident, a special police team was formed under the leadership of Kholari Sub-Divisional Officer, following directions from the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi. The team, including officers from Kholari and McCluskieganj police stations, has been conducting continuous raids to apprehend the culprits.
On 18 December 2025, the team received a tip-off that TSPC sub-zonal commander Adil Ansari, also known as Deva Ji Dasta, along with his associates, was moving through Dhamdhamia to collect extortion from coal traders and brick kiln owners. Acting on the information, the police set up an ambush in the forested area, arresting Salman with a loaded country-made pistol and ammunition.
During interrogation, Salman revealed that he and his accomplices work under Adil Ansari’s direction to extort local contractors, coal traders, and brick kiln owners. The identities of the two escaped insurgents have been confirmed, and police have vowed to apprehend them soon. The firing incident in Kholari is also being linked to TSPC activities, and further investigations are underway.
