Ensure no drop outs from schools, says CS gives target to make literate 15 lakh people by March 18

Ranchi, Jul 12: Jharkhand Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma directed the officials of the education department to ensure that there are no drop outs from the schools of the state.

 

Reviewing the functioning of the school education and literacy department here she said that the students of Kasturba Schools who have passed class 10th exams should be admitted in inter or in polytechnic institutions while those who have cleared their plus 2 be admitted in colleges.

 

Ms Veram said that the seats in the colleges of LWE areas has been increased therefore admission of the children should be held in the ratio of the seats. She suggested that girls whjo obtain less marks be enrolled at the Hunar Portal so that they can be trained in the area of self employment.

She asked the officials to identify the illiterate and in the examination to be held in the month of Augsut atleast 6 lakh illiterates be included as a target has been set to make at least 15 lakh literate people.

 

She said that in the night schools discussions should be held on zero drop out and literacy drive so that people  can be encouraged towards education. The Chief Secretary said that by March 2018 15 lakh illiterate people would be made literate for which the officials needed to work with full dedication.

Ms Verma directed that meetings of the school management committee be held regularly and asked the district level officials to participate in the meetinsg so that they can review the works of the mukhiya, BRP and CRP.
