Ranchi, Aug 8: Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma directed that all the inmates who are lodged in various jails of the state should be presented before the courts through the e-court facility.
Reviewing the functioning of the Home, Prison and Disaster Management here she asked the jail superintendents to make sure that 100 pc tribals and appearance are done through video conferencing and also make sure that the appearance of hardcore criminals and the hardcore Maoists is also done through the e-court facility.
The Chief Secretary asked to make complete arrangements for video conferencing in the courts and jails and also directed the officials to make surprise checks in the jails. She also directed to undertake checking of the warders in jail in two tier system and said that they too should not be allowed to take mobile inside the hails. It was also decided that mobile detectors would be purchased for the jails.
The Chief Secretary said that admission of the children who are above five years should be done in schools whose parents are under-trails or are in jail serving their prison term. She asked the officials to conduct a profiling of such children who are in the jail with their mother and their admission be done in residential/ashram and gurkul schools.
