Engineer arrested taking Rs 1 lakh bribe in Jharkhand

Ranchi: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested an engineer while taking Rs one lakh bribe in Jharkhand’s Simdega district.

According to the official of ACB, Arvind Kumar, executive engineer of Rural Engineering Organisation (REO)was arrested while taking Rs 1 lakh cash from a private company proprietor to pass a bill. Hemant Kumar, proprietor of Lakshmi Enterprises had lodged a complaint with the ACB.

Hemant had alleged that the executive engineer of REO had sought Rs 1 lakh to pass a road bill constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna (PMGSY).

The ACB team laid a trap on Wednesday and arrested Arvind Kumar, Besides one lakh, ACB team also seized Rs 80,000 from the possession of the executive engineer, He has been brought to Ranchi after arrest for interrogation.
