Elections in Jharkhand in 4 phases, Model Code of Conduct Implemented

Ranchi : The dates of Lok Sabha elections have been announced. The Election Commission has made its official announcement. According to this, elections will be held in the country in seven phases. Voting will start in Jharkhand from the fourth phase.

According to the notification of the Election Commission, elections will be held in four phases in Jharkhand. The first phase of voting will be held on May 13 in Singhbhum, Khunti, Palamu, Lohardaga. Second phase voting will be held on May 20 in Chatra, Koderma, Hazaribagh.

The third phase of voting will be held on May 25 in Giridih, Ranchi, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur. In the fourth phase, voting will be held in Rajmahal, Godda and Dumka on June 1.

Assembly by-election will be held in Gandey on May 20. This seat had become vacant after the resignation of JMM MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed. Voting was held in four phases in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand. 

In this, NDA alliance had captured 12 out of 14 seats. In this, BJP won 11 seats and AJSU won one seat. Whereas Congress and JMM got one seat each.

At present, political temperature has increased after the arrest of Hemant Soren in Jharkhand. Recently, Jharkhand Congress working president and MP Geeta Koda had joined BJP. This was a big blow to Congress before the elections.
