Efforts being made to make Jharkhand have a separate identity on tourism map: Chief Minister

Patratu, Ramgarh: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday said that the state government was taking all possible steps needed to promote natural and religious tourism in Jharkhand.

Speaking after inaugurating the extended facilities for tourists at the Patratu Dam complex here he said that Patratu needs no introduction but there is a need to make it more beautiful and draw more people for which efforts are been made as apart from the new complex some other small and big schemes have been inaugurated He said that Jharkhand is full of mineral wealth and many beautiful and scenic places are here which in different weather are visited by the people.

The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand is the land of Beautiful valleys and religious spots where people from all over the world come. He said that the state has numerous famous religious spots including Baidyanath Dham Basukinath Dham Rajrappa and Deori Temple for which the government is framing schemes and realising them on the ground. He said that as part of the initiative doors of Patratu have been opened to the public and this spot does not belong to the government but to the people of Jharkhand. 

He said that at any tourism spot many things are attached to it which creates employment for many and around the tourism spots nearby areas markets and business develop which fills stomach of lakhs of people. He said that this dam and its water is an attraction for people who come from far away places which in turn will be highly benefited to the people of the Patratu block. He asked the people that they should not cause damage to dam or lese they will be facing losses.

He asked the people not to pollute the water with waste and garbage. He said that he had also seen people celebrating picnics and dumping their garbage which is not correct and asked the district administration to do marking of the catchment area so that the people cannot do any wastage or spread garbage.

He asked them to identify the spot for putting garbage which should be later disposed off properly. For the people who operate boats should make sure that people carrying chips packet should not throw the packet in water as not only it will cause loss to the dam but it will also be a big loss to their income.

The Chief Minister said that unless the common people are aware and alert execution of any scheme is irrelevant. He said that the government is working to further improve infrastructure here and will soon start bus service for here from Ranchi while ropeway water activities will be further developed.

He said that people of the area who want employment around a development spot they need not have doctor and engineer degrees but take advantage of various schemes of the state and open shops and businesses or even make local handicrafts and pottery which will be brought by the tourists.

Tourism Minister Hafizul Hasan and others also graced the occasion. He also laid foundation stones and inaugurated schemes worth Rs 12.92 crore in the event and also awarded the winners of various competitions organised by the Tourism Department.
