Ranchi: ED will interrogate CM Hemant Soren at 1 pm on Wednesday. CM Hemant Soren accused the ED of being politically motivated and stopping the elected government from working. He termed the questions asked by ED on January 20 as beyond the facts and wrong. Also, despite being busy with the budget session, he had sent an e-mail to ED agreeing to record his statement at his residence on January 31.
Along with his objections, the Chief Minister has called the ED to his residence on January 31 at 1 pm to record the statement. At around 7 am on Monday morning, in search of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, his residence in Shanti Niketan, Jharkhand Bhawan and the MP residence allotted to Shibu Soren were raided.
ED had raided Delhi in search of the Chief Minister because no time was fixed for questioning in the land purchase and sale case. However, the CM was not found at his residence. A team of Delhi ED officials was involved in the raid led by Assistant Director of Ranchi Regional Office, Devvrat Jha.
During the investigation of money laundering case related to the alleged land scam, ED has recovered Rs 36 lakh cash from Hemant Soren’s Delhi residence. Besides, ED has also seized two cars. The ED team had raided the residence of CM Hemant Soren in Delhi on Monday.
However, ED officials had left the CM’s residence at around 7 pm on Monday evening. But after some time, without saying anything, the ED officials again went inside CM Hemant Soren’s house and checked Hemant Soren’s personal car. During this time, some documents were found inside the vehicle, which were taken into custody by ED officials. At the same time, ED had also taken a BMW car with Haryana number.
