ED summons CM Hemant Soren, asked to appear on August 14

Ranchi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent summons to the Chief Minister of the state, Hemant Soren.

ED has asked him to appear at ED’s Ranchi Zonal Office on 14th August.

Earlier, ED had questioned CM Hemant Soren for about 10 hours on 18 November 2022 in the illegal mining case.

In this inquiry, ED had asked Chief Minister Hemant Soren many questions related to stone mining. Chief Minister Hemant Soren challenged the ED by writing an open letter.

ED is probing the land scam in Ranchi. Investigation is being done on the basis of the report of Nitin Madan Kulkarni, the then Commissioner of Ranchi Division.

After conducting an inquiry in connection with the land occupied by the army, the commissioner submitted the report to the government.

Investigation report that army land was occupied on the basis of fake name and address. Ranchi Municipal Corporation lodged a complaint in this matter.

ED registered FIR as CSIR and started its investigation.

When the investigation of this matter started, the first raid was done in November 2022 at the places of businessmen Vishnu Agarwal, Amit Agarwal.

ED raided for the second time on 13 April.

Ranchi’s former DC Chhavi Ranjan, Badgain Circle Circle Officer Manoj Kumar, employee Bhanu Pratap and 21 places related to land business were raided.

Many important papers of evidence were found in the raid.

Seven land traders including employee Bhanu Pratap were arrested for keeping government documents at home.

During the interrogation of these accused on remand, information about others involved in tampering with the original land documents was found.

On April 24, another raid was conducted at the premises of PPS Uday Shankar, posted in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, ED got information that efforts were being made to provide administrative help to land traders from this place.
