ED court refuses to grant bail to former Ranchi DC Chhavi Ranjan, petition dismissed

Ranchi: The special court of Ranchi PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) has given its verdict on Tuesday on the bail plea of former DC Chhavi Ranjan, accused of land scam. After hearing both the sides, the court rejected Chhavi Ranjan’s plea and refused to grant him bail. Now Chhavi Ranjan can approach the High Court for his regular bail.

The bail pleas of Afsar Ali, Amit Agarwal and Pradeep Bagchi, other accused in the land scam case, have already been rejected. 

In this case related to the purchase and sale of army-occupied land located in Bariatu of Badgai zone of Ranchi, former DC of ED Ranchi Chhavi Ranjan, revenue sub-inspector of Badagai zone Bhanu Pratap Prasad, fake raiyat of army-occupied land Pradeep Bagchi, land The charge sheet has been filed against businessman Afsar Ali, Imtiaz Khan, Talha Khan, Fayaz Khan and Mohammad Saddam, Amit Agarwal and Dilip Ghosh.

IAS Chhavi Ranjan has been behind bars for the last three months.
