ED court refuses to grant bail to Amit Agarwal and Dilip Ghosh in connection with Land Scam case

Ranchi: The hearing on the bail application of Kolkata-based businessmen Amit Agarwal and Dilip Ghosh, accused in the land scam, was held at Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Ranchi on Friday. After hearing the arguments of the ED and the defence, the court refused to grant bail to Amit and Dilip and rejected their bail pleas.

In the special court of Ranchi PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act), both the accused had requested for bail. On behalf of ED, Special Public Prosecutor Shiv Kumar alias Kaka ji presented the case. Advocate Vidyut Chaurasia argued on behalf of Amit Agarwal. On June 7, the ED arrested Kolkata-based businessmen Amit Agarwal and Dilip Ghosh from Kolkata. 

The case related to the purchase and sale of army-occupied land located in Bariatu of Badgai zone of Ranchi, former Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi IAS Chhavi Ranjan, revenue sub-inspector of Badagai zone Bhanu Pratap Prasad, fake raiyat of army-occupied land Pradeep Bagchi, land A charge sheet has also been filed against businessmen Afsar Ali, Imtiaz Khan, Talha Khan, Fayaz Khan and Mohammad Saddam.
