Ranchi: AJSU student union locked the main gate of Ranchi University on Friday. The union has done this lockout in support of the employees protesting at the university gate. Actually, the salary of third and fourth-class employees has not been fixed. Against this, since July 3, the employees have been protesting outside the gate for two hours every day. Even today the employees were protesting at the university gate.
Supporting the employees, the AJSU student union locked the gate. After about 2 hours, the lock was opened after the assurance of VC Professor Ajit Kumar Sinha. Before opening the gate, talks were held between the VC and the AJSU student union. In the conversation, the Vice-Chancellor said that talks are being held with HRD.
By July 13, the problem of these employees will be resolved. Convener of All India Employees Federation, Naveen Chanchal said after the assurance of the VC, the lock of the gate has been opened. The AJSU Students’ Union has warned that if the problem is not resolved by July 13, they will launch a fierce agitation. The employees of class III and IV are sitting on a dharna inside the university after the lockdown was opened.
This protest has been going on since last Monday. The employees staged a sit-in every day from 12 noon to 2 pm. After 2 o’clock the employees return to their work. The students are facing difficulties due to the sit-in of the employees. The work of the students who have brought some work from far away is not being done.
