DVC to provide 250 MVA additional power to Bokaro Steel Limited

Ranchi/Bokaro : Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) will supply additional power of 250 MVA to Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL), a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).

Official sources said here today that an agreement in this regard has been signed between DVC and BSL and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between them at Bokaro Steel City on Saturday.

At present DVC BSL supplies 220 MVA power to SAIL and as per the MoU additional supply will start from 2027-28.

Sources said that the said agreement was made keeping in mind the requirement of additional power due to the imminent expansion of BSL.

DVC will meet the increased demand from its upcoming brownfield thermal power projects being set up at various establishments.

On behalf of DVC, Member (Finance) Arup Sarkar, Executive Director (Commercial) Sanjeev Srivastava, ED (Systems) DK Singh, ED (Finance) Joydeep Mukherjee was present on the occasion, while from BSL side, ED (Works), ED (Projects) and ED (Finance) besides senior officials from both the sides were present.
