Dr. Shashibala Singh Appointed as New Interim Director of RIMS

Ranchi: An administrative reshuffle has taken place at Jharkhand’s largest government hospital, RIMS (Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences). Dr. Shashibala Singh has been appointed as the new interim Director of RIMS. The State Health Department has issued an official notification regarding her appointment.

Late last night, former RIMS Director Dr. Rajkumar was removed from his position with immediate effect. According to sources, the decision was made due to several serious allegations against him.

Reacting to the development, Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari stated in clear terms that any official or employee showing negligence in their duties will not be spared. He emphasized that the government will not tolerate any irregularities in a crucial healthcare institution like RIMS.

The removal of Dr. Rajkumar has also drawn a response from senior leader Saryu Roy. In a tweet, he called the action unfortunate and claimed that it was taken because Dr. Rajkumar did not comply with a government order regarding a wrongful payment of crores of rupees during a recent RIMS Governing Body meeting. Roy alleged that the improvements Dr. Rajkumar was making at RIMS were not in line with the government’s interests.
