DC’s Surprise School Inspection Exposes Poor Education Standards and Negligence

Ramgarh: Concerned over the declining standard of education in the district, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rituraj conducted a surprise inspection of Plus Two High School, Dimra, during his visit to Gola block. The inspection revealed several serious irregularities, prompting the Deputy Commissioner to express strong displeasure and order immediate corrective measures.

During the inspection, the school premises were found in an unhygienic condition with poor cleanliness and garbage scattered across the campus. Important records and registers were also not properly updated. The Deputy Commissioner reprimanded the concerned officials and directed them to ensure regular cleanliness and proper maintenance of school records.

It was also discovered that essential facilities such as the laboratory, smart classroom, library, and toilets were non-functional, directly affecting students’ studies and basic amenities. Taking the matter seriously, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the responsible authorities to submit an explanation within a week and restore all facilities immediately.

Emphasizing the importance of quality education, Mr. Rituraj said that mere attendance in schools is not enough and that effective teaching must be ensured. He directed officials to conduct regular classes, provide proper teaching materials, and improve the academic environment for students.

Several teachers from Classes 1 to 8 were found absent without prior information during the inspection. Calling it a serious act of negligence, the Deputy Commissioner ordered an immediate halt on salary payments for nine teachers.

The condition of the school kitchen was also found unsatisfactory. Officials were instructed to improve the midday meal arrangements and strictly maintain hygiene standards.

The Deputy Commissioner made it clear that negligence in the education system would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against those found responsible. He also questioned the functioning of the Block Education Extension Officer and instructed officials to carry out regular inspections and ensure accountability.

Notably, explanations had already been sought from 64 schools in the district earlier over poor academic results and declining education quality.
