DC & SSP chair review meeting over arrangements for Chhath, directs for putting signage, erecting light & cleanliness

Ranchi: Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ranchi Rahul Kumar Sinha a meeting was held for maintaining law and order during Chhath Puja. In the meeting Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi Kishore Kaushal, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Naushad Alam, Superintendent of Police, City Anshuman Kumar, Sub-Divisional Officer Sadar Deepak Dubey, Sub- Divisional Officer Bundu, all Deputy Superintendents of Police and all of the district through video conferencing. 

Block Development Officer, Circle Officer, and all the station in-charges were present. In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding providing better arrangements to the devotees in Chhath, the big festival of public faith and belief. 

Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha said that this time all the Chhath Ghats are full of water, therefore officials should put up notice boards so that people do not go into deep water. At the same time, he said that barricading should also be done for the safety of the devotees.

He directed to make of extensive arrangements for cleanliness and lighting in all the Chhath Ghats and the way leading to the Ghats. He said that cooperation can also be taken from various Chhath Puja committees and common people in this work so that the devotees can get the best arrangements. 

The Deputy Commissioner has directed the concerned officers to take care that there is no fireworks on the Chhath Ghats during Arghya. He said that during the Arghya devotees are in a queue at the Chhath Ghats so take care that no untoward incident takes place due to fireworks.

The Deputy Commissioner directed to maintain emergency arrangements in all CHCs, PHCs and all hospitals at the district level and to arrange ambulances till Sadar Hospital Ranchi. Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha said that in the biggest festival of public faith all deputed magistrates and police officers would discharge the work with mutual coordination. 

During the meeting, Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal said that due to heavy rains the depth of water in Chhath Ghats is high so the demarcation should be ensured. He directed to make full arrangements of lighting in all Chhath Ghats and to do night patrolling with utmost vigilance.

He said that special precautions should be taken at essential places. The SSP also talked about being vigilant about the problem of fireworks and tampering in crowded places.
