Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday directed the officials to make sure that in wake of the Chhath Mahaparv which is going to commence from October 28 all necessary arrangements are made at the Chhath Ghats in the state.
The Chief Minister himself visited the Chhath Ghats in the capital and took stock of the arrangements. The Chief Minister visited Kanke Dam and Hatania Pond and had a look at the cleanliness safety and other arrangements.
He directed the officials present on the spot to make all necessary arrangements required for the devotees. He said that the government is focussed on improving the tourism sector in the state for which Kanke Dam in the capital is an apt spot but during inspection, it emerged that the spot lacked basic amenities and there were also lack of other facilities.
He said that due to a lack of coordination proper maintenance of the place is not taking place and even the building of the food court has become dilapidated.
He assured that all the facilities will be improved here to draw the tourists. Those who accompanied the Chief Minister in his inspection also includes Ranchi DC Rahul Kumar Sinha, Ranchi SSP Kishore Kaushal and other senior officials of district administration.
