Cultural programs at many places in Ranchi on Karam eve

Ranchi: Karam eve function organized under the auspices of Sarna Youth Union Central Committee, cultural program was organized at Convocation Pavilion and Argora Ground of Ranchi University. On the eve of Karam festival, cultural seminar cum cultural program “Karam Akhara” was organized at Argora ground. Padmashree Mukund Nayak, Dr. Vandana Rai and Dr. Shakuntala Mishra presented their statements in the seminar on the last day of this program organized by the Department of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs. In which the importance and mythology of Karam Parv was explained.

After the seminar, cultural programs were presented by various groups. In which Nagpuri song by Lakshmi Nath Mahato and team Ranchi and Nagpuri Karma dance by Janaki Devi and her team, Oraon Karam dance song by Jhirga Bhagat and team, Ranchi, Rata dance and Karam dance by Satyavrat Thakur and team Simdega, Vinay Prakash.

Mundari Karam song dance by Munda and Dal Ranchi, Kadasa Karam dance by Sushma Nag and Dal Gumla, Karam dance by Basant Kharwar and Dal, Latehar, Birhor Karam song dance by Ramdas Birhor and Dal Latehar, Girlfriend Asur and Dal Gumla. A beautiful presentation of Asur Karam song dance was given by Deepak Lohar and Dal Ranchi and Nagpuri dance and drama was given. Shailja Bala, Cornelouise Minz, Padmashree Madhu Mansuri Hansmukh, Mahavir Nayak etc. participated in the program.

Students from 32 colleges and hostels participated in the evening program organized at the Convocation Pavilion. In which solo and group folk songs in Mundari, Kudukh and Ho languages were presented. Karam songs and dance songs were presented in tribal languages on the beats of Maander. All the students were dancing in traditional costumes and playing musical instruments. Chief guest, VC of Ranchi University, Ajit Kumar Sinha said that Karam Parv is the festival of nature. Today, nature is being worshiped all over Jharkhand.

Head of Tribal Department, Dr. Hari Oraon said that Karam Puja is a festival of brothers and sisters. Here sisters pray for their brothers. Lifting jawa is considered a symbol of germination in tribal society. Share its sentiment and message. There is a tradition of distributing seedlings throughout the year on Bhado Ekadashi. Karam and Dharam are the only festivals in the entire festival. Everything should be based on Karma Dharam. Only then will the balance between Karma and Dharma be maintained in this festival. Man will only do karma and leaving religion will bring ego into human life. If a person follows religion then ego will not come.
