CS directs DCs to ensure that banks do not send loan recovery letters to farmers

Ranchi, Jul 8: Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma  directed all the DCs of the state to make sure that banks do not send loan recovery letters to the farmers of the state.

 

Chairing a review meeting with the principal secretaries and secretaries of the various departments she said that she it was the sowing season and if the production of crops is good than the laons can be easily paid.

 

She said that under the crop insurance scheme a target has been set to cover 25 lakh farmers but so far in the state only 7.5 lakh farmers have opted for insurance cover. She directed the officials to organise camps in all the districts for form generation  and at any cost the target to cover 25 lakh farmers be covered in the state. Over the issue of offtake of fertilisers he instructed not to issue any new license and ensure that moniotirng be done from the lifting point to the wholesale dealers of fertilisres. She also asked to take action against such Krishak Mitras who are not performing better.

 

Reviewing the functioning of the education department she said that a roaster should be prepared regarding the affiliated schools and in every three montsh it should be reviewed so that no affiliate schools can be figured out. She directed that for examination next year none of the private schools be made examination centers and only such students who have 75 pc attendance be allowed to appear in the exam. To increase literacy she asked to organise motivation lectures and the DEO would be held responsible for that.
