Ranchi: The Civil Court has sentenced Sumit Lohra, also known as Petrol Lohra, a resident of Bodhiya Road in Kanke, to 7 years of rigorous imprisonment for the crime of unintentional murder. Additionally, the court has imposed a fine of ₹5,000 on Sumit.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), Sumit had assaulted a man named Gajju with a bamboo stick, leaving him severely injured. Gajju later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at RIMS.
The incident took place on February 10, 2019, after which Gajju’s sister, Geeta Devi, filed a named FIR at Lalpur Police Station. During the trial, the prosecution presented 6 witnesses, based on whose testimonies the court delivered its verdict.
