2-day special training to combat illegal opium cultivation

Ranchi: A two-day special training programme on the NDPS Act (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act) was organised by the Research and Training Institute, Hotwar Ranchi, in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau, Ranchi, at the New Police Station, on Thursday. The programme was inaugurated by Chandan Kumar Sinha, Police Additional Director General and Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi.

The training included a special session on the use of satellite imagery for preventing illegal opium cultivation in districts. Police officers, including Deputy Superintendents of Police, Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors, and Assistant Sub-Inspectors, participated in the programme. Previously, similar training sessions have been conducted for police officers stationed in the districts of Chatra, West Singhbhum (Chaibasa), and Khunti. In the near future, similar training programmes will be conducted in other districts of the state as well.

This initiative is a significant step toward enhancing the efficiency of law enforcement and contributing to the effective control of narcotic substances in the state.
