Congress national spokesperson attacks Centre over rising prices of petrol and diesel

Ranchi: Congress party’s national spokesperson Gourav Vallabh on Thursday attacked the centre over the rising prices of petrol and diesel.

Addressing a press conference at the state Congress office here he said that the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the name of GDP. He said that when the centre talks about increase in the GDP it means that it is talking about increase in the prices of gas diesel and petrol.

He said that the Modi government thinks that by changing names development will take place. He said that names of the stadium and Universities are been changed and even the original shape of the petrol pumps across the country has been changed and these have turned out to be  Modi tax collection centre.

He said that the smiling face of the Prime Minister which has been put up in pictures across the petrol pumps is a proof that he is happy with the rising cost of petrol and diesel.

The national spokesperson said that at present the base price of petrol was Rs 31 per litre on which the central government had imposed and excise duty of Rs 32.5 per litre. Attacking the centre which has raised its hands over the rising prices of petrol diesel and gas he said that if centre does not have the power in its to control their prices then what actually does it have in its hand.

He said that if the government does not have anything in its hand therefore it should also have no right to remain in power. Gaurav Vallabh said that in 2014 the prices of crude oil was 108 dollars per barrel which at present is 62-63 per  dollar despite that people are being forced to buy petrol at Rs 100 per litre.

In the press conference JPCC  Chief and Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon and cabinet ministers Alamgir Alam and Banna Gupta were also present.
