Khunti: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday inaugurated 27 schemes worth Rs 111 crore at Ulihatu which is the birthplace of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and also laid foundation stones for 31 other projects and schemes. Speaking on the occasion the Chief Minister said that the state government has come to pay tributes at the birthplace of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and has brought with itself development schemes and has come to doors of the people to give them their rights.
He said that the tribal community has been socially and educationally backward but a man from the community is now working to give pace to the development of the state and due to this the works related to the development of Jal Jungle and Zameen are being accorded priority. He said that the government has provided ration cards among 15 lakh needy and children from the tribal community are being sent abroad for education and players are being provided direct recruitment. He called upon the people to work with the government to take forward the government schemes.
On the occasion, he also announced that benefits of old-age pension will be extended to all the old age people in the state and norms of APL and BPL have been set aside. He said that the schemes of the government will be taken to the villages and warned of action against the officers who will be negligent in ensuring the benefits of schemes to the people. He pointed that before the formation of the state Jayanti of Bhagwan Birsa Munda was celebrated at a few places. He said that when people of the country had not dreamt of independence at that time Birsa Munda had blown the trumpet for Independence.
The Chief Minister said that a separate state of Jharkhand was only created after Bravehearts made their sacrifices. He
called on the members of the tribal community to become more aware as then only the future of coming generations will be bright. The Chief Minister said that the government has decided to provide eggs six-day in a week to school children however for that eggs have to be brought from outside.
He asked the people to undertake poultry and said that the eggs will be procured by the state government. He said that under the Palash brand the products being manufactured by the rural women are being provided market and among the need goat rearing etc is being promoted as the practice of animal husbandry is on since ancient era. He said that there was a need to strengthen the future generations as rate of malnutrition was more in the state and when egg and poultry will be produced in the state it is natural that the future generations will be strong.
He pointed that earlier the tribals use to have a stock of animals which has gone extinct now. Rural Development Minister Alamgir Aalam said Bhagwan Birsa Munda stayed for a short life but in that, he had dreamt of an exploitation-free state. He said that the people will always remember his sacrifice. He said that the state government is going to complete two years in power and immediately after the formation of the government the pandemic had stuck but the government has worked to protect the lives
and livelihood.
He said that amid the pandemic also the rural development department created jobs and the government is working for more job creation. He said that all the villages will be linked with schemes by the means of Aapke Adhikar- Apki Sarkar Apke Dwar. The minister said that 15,000 women have been linked with self-employment under Phulo-Jhano Aashirwad Yojana.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also gave away cheques among beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Rojgar Srijan Yojana and distributed machines for Agriculture among the people. Those present on the occasion also included Labour Minister Satyanand Bhokta, Tamar MLA Vikas Singh Munda and others.
