CM expresses grief over Dumka Kerosene incident, announces Rs 10 lakh aid for family

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed his grief over the demise of a girl who was set on fire by her jilted lover in Bhalki Bharatpur village under the Jarmundi Police Station area of Dumka district.

The Chief Minister has expressed his grief over the shocking incident and also directed to provide Rs 10 lakh as immediate aid to the family members of the deceased. Jarmundi SDPO Shivendra said that the culprit Rajesh Raut has been arrested.

Moreover, as an immediate help, the district administration had provided Rs 1 lakh to the family of the girl. On the other hand, the family of the deceased demanded the hardest of punishment for the accused so that their daughter could get justice. 

Earlier the recently married girl who had been set on fire by her jilted lover in Dumka died while being treated at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi. The culprit Rajesh Raut wanted to marry the deceased Maruti Kumari and she had rejected his advances on several occasions after which he had threatened to pour kerosene on her and set her on fire.

Late Thursday night the culprit forcibly got inside the house of the girl and while she was sleeping he poured kerosene on her and set her on fire in which she sustained serious burn injuries.
