Cleanliness is the new mass movement under leadership of Prime Minister: Deepak Prakash

Ranchi: As part of Social Justice Fortnight, BJP State President and MP Deepak Prakash participated in the cleanliness campaign program organized by the Ranchi Mahanagar.

On this occasion, he said that cleanliness has become the new identity of the country. He said that India’s respect in the world has increased due to public support in the cleanliness campaign. He said that WHO has praised the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been honored with the Global Goalkeeper Award for this campaign.

Deepak Prakash said that Rs 7,192 crore has been allocated in the budget 2022-23 for the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and a total allocation of Rs 1,41,678 crore was made during 2021-26 for Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0. He said that cleanliness has become the national character of the country today and every countryman is determined to achieve the goal of India free from dirt and waste.

He said that all the villages and cities of the country have become open defecation free and have ensured a dignified life by constructing toilets in more than 11.5 crore houses. He said that more than 58,000 thousand villages and more than 3300 cities have been declared ODF.

He said that the availability of toilets has been ensured everywhere by the construction of more than 8.2 lakh community sanitation complexes in villages and cities. He said that there has been a four-fold increase in waste disposal in urban areas from 25,000 tonnes per day in 2013-14 to one lakh tonnes per day in 2021-22.
