Cabinet decisions: 15 lakh families to get rice under Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme

Ranchi: The state government has decided to provide rice under the Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme to 15 lakh families which are not covered under the National Food Security Act of 2013.

A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the state cabinet which was chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren at the project building here.

Further, the state government has sanctioned a sum of Rs 141.56 crore which would be used in transportation, handling and distribution of foodgrains among the families covered under the National Food Security Act as part of Pradhanmantri Garib Kalyan Yojana for the period July to November 2020.

In another important decision, the government decided to name the three new medical colleges set up in Dumka, Hazaribagh and Palamu under PMSSY Phase-2 while the Patliputra Medical College Hospital in Dhanbad would be renamed as Shaheed Nirmal Mahto College Hospital Dhanbad. It was also decided to give the approval to run the cluster facilitation project scheme in the state by the Rural Development Ministry Government of India for better execution of Mnrega scheme.

The cabinet also gave approval from the retrospective effect the proposal to organize and the tentative program schedule of the Monsoon session of the Jharkhand Assembly from September 18 to 22.

Further, it was decided to give a service extension to the officers appointed under Other Disaster Management Project. The cabinet nod was given for the formation of the Jharkhand Lawyers Clerk Welfare Fund.

Among other decisions, the cabinet decided to implement the Jharkhand international waterways rules while amendments would be made in Jharkhand State Police Services Rules 2012.

The government has also decided to submit CAG report on the revenue sector for the year ending March 31, 2018, CAG report on finances of the state government for the year ended March 31, 2019, and CAG report on the social sector and economic sectors for the year ended March 31, 2018 in the floor of the assembly.

The government has also decided to implement SIPDA in the state for the year 2020-21 and approved a sum of Rs 30 crore for its execution. Approval was also given to constitute the Jharkhand Land Mutation Bill 2020 and along with that the performa of Jharkhand Mineral Bearing Land (Covid-19 Pandemic) cess Rules, 2020 was also approved. Several other decisions were also approved by the cabinet.
