Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed his commitment towards taking steps to revive the fortunes of Heavy Engineering Corporation, from the ongoing crisis. Earlier Independent MLA Saryu Rai raised the issue of HEC through a non-official resolution in the Jharkhand assembly expressing his concern over its situation and asked the state government to mount pressure on the union government.
The Chief Minister on his part said that the public sector unit is an iconic structure that has played a vital role in the development of the country and the state government has always thought about its permanent existence according to its ability and capacity.
However, he said that now the union government has started privatizing railways, airports and other PSUs and claimed that he has come to know that the Centre has plans to run the Ranchi Airport on PPP Mode.
He accused the Union government of being non-committal to its words pointed the example of Hotel Ashoka where despite completing all the formalities the state government has not been given the handover of the property. However, he assured the house that the state government will make a fresh attempt for the revival of HEC.
