Ranchi: Speaker Ravindranath Mahto on Thursday chaired an all-party meet before the start of the Budget Session of the assembly during which he sought the cooperation of all the parties to run the house smoothly. However, the main opposition party BJP skipped the meeting over the issue of their legislature wing leader Babulal Marandi not being invited to the meeting. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Alamgir Aalam, Labour Minister Satyanand Bhokta, MLAs Pradeep Yadav, Binod Singh of CPI-ML, Lambodar Mahto AJSU and Independent MLA Saryu Rai.
In the meeting, a discussion was held to increase the time for the Governor’s speech and later for the discussion on the budget over which the Speaker said that a final decision will be taken in the meeting of the work advisory committee. Later the Speaker also chaired a meeting of the Press Advisory Committee during which he directed the authorities to make sure that all necessary documents including copies of the bills and reports of the departments reach on time to the journalists.
