Dhanbad – Security was stepped up at the Dhanbad Civil Court on Wednesday after an anonymous email warned of a bomb planted inside the premises. The message, received during court hours, led to immediate alerts being issued to the District Judge and senior police officials.
As a precaution, the entire court complex was evacuated. Lawyers, litigants, court staff and visitors were safely escorted out while police, dog squads and bomb disposal teams conducted an extensive search. Entry and exit points were sealed, and all sensitive locations were thoroughly checked. No explosive material was found, though authorities said the threat was taken very seriously.
The incident follows a string of similar threats to courts and administrative buildings across Jharkhand in recent weeks, prompting heightened surveillance and a cyber probe to trace the emails’ origin.
