The Supreme Court of India on Wednesday granted interim relief to Hemant Soren, staying proceedings against him before the MP-MLA Special Court in Ranchi in a case linked to alleged non-compliance with summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate.
A bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi also issued notice to the ED, seeking its response. The case arises from an ED complaint alleging that Soren failed to appear despite multiple summonses in a money laundering probe related to an alleged land scam. The matter will be taken up after the agency files its reply.
