Ranchi, May 6: The BJP today announced the name of former Gomia MLA Madhav Lal Singh as the party candidate for the by-polls to the Gomia Seat of the Jharkhand Assembly voting for which would be held on May 28.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters here, MLA and general secretary of the party Anant Ojha said as part of the coalition dharma his party has fielded its candidate for the seat. He said that the party would continue its alliance with the AJSU in the state.
He said that post the creation of the state there has been a coalition with the BJP and the AJSU and it would also continue into future. He said that the politics of development started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Raghubar Das would ensure victory for party in the by-polls.
However Mr Ojha refrained to make any comments over its junior ally AJSU which has fielded former JPSC officer Lambodar Mahto as the candidate from Gomia seat. Quoting the performance of the BJP in the municipal elections in the state he said that there was no doubt over the victory in the polls.
Former Gomia MLA Chatru Ram Mahto who was also present in the press conference he said that he and his workers would now work to ensure victory of Madhav Lal Singh in the polls. He said that once the central leadership has decided to field Mr Singh therefore all disputes have come to an end.
