Belal and Shabbo Khatoon sentenced to life imprisonment, fined Rs 95-95 thousand in connection with Ormanjhi decapitated body case

Ranchi: The punishment has been announced in the case of a decapitated body found in Ormanjhi, Ranchi in the year 2021. In this case, the court of Justice MJ Verma has sentenced the accused Sheikh Belal and his wife Afshana Khatoon. The court not only sentenced but also imposed a fine on both of them. Both have been asked to pay Rs 95-95 thousand as fine.

The court has said that if both of them do not pay the fine amount then both of them will have to face additional punishment of one year. On November 25, the court had declared both of them guilty in this case. In the first week of January 2021, a decapitated body was found in Ormanjhi, adjacent to the capital Ranchi.

After investigation, the police identified her as Sufia Parveen of Loyo village of Mandar. The police had worked very hard to arrest Sufia’s husband Belal and his wife Shabbo Khatoon behind this murder. After which the hearing of this murder case was going on.

On November 25, the court of Additional Justice MK Verma had found Belal and his wife Shabbo Khatoon guilty of murder. The court sentenced both of them on 30th November. The police had arrested Belal and his wife Shabbo on 14 January 2021 in the Sufia Parveen murder case. According to Sources, Sufia was murdered due to illicit relationships. In this case, the prosecution had recorded the statements of 19 witnesses. There was a huge uproar in Ranchi regarding this incident. Due to this incident, CM Hemant Soren’s convoy was attacked on 4 January 2021. This attack took place at Kishoreganj Chowk in Ranchi. However, it was said to be an attempt to stop the convoy.

In this case, FIR was registered against 150 people including 65 named in Sukhdev Nagar police station. In the information given by the police, Belal had told that Sufia had asked him to leave his first wife. If he did not do so, he had threatened to send him to jail. Belal had earlier gone to jail in the Arms Act case. It was Sufia who got him sent to jail. He was angry with this. He had spent a lot of money on getting bail in this case. Sufia had also assured to hush up this matter.

ut after being released on bail, when Belal asked Sufia to take up the case, she told him to leave his first wife. When Belal said that this was not possible, Sufia became angry. He again threatened to send Belal to jail for a long time. Belal feared that Sufia might again implicate him in some cases and send him to jail, due to which the entire family would be ruined. Then he along with his first wife Shabbo Khatoon prepared a plan to remove Sufia from his path. Sufia was murdered by bringing Ormanjhi.
