Banna Gupta meets Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, seeks another AIIMS, urges to increase the honorarium of Sahiyas

Ranchi: Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta met Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in Varanasi. During this, he has requested to increase the honorarium of 42 thousand Sahiyas working in Jharkhand. The Union Health Minister has been informed through a memorandum that a recommendation was made to increase the incentive amount but no action has been taken on it.

He has informed the Union Health Minister that ten thousand per month in Andhra Pradesh, five thousand per month in Kerala is being given to Sahiyas as honorarium. While in Jharkhand two thousand to three thousand honorarium is given per month which is very less in present situation.

Health Minister Banna Gupta has demanded another AIIMS for Jharkhand from the Union Health Minister. He informed that RIMS of Ranchi is the only institute in which the patients of the state have to depend for the treatment of common diseases and high risk based diseases.

The treatment of the patients of East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Saraikela-Kharsawan of Kolhan division is not possible on time. Also, due to the increasing number of patients of the state, there is difficulty in proper treatment in RIMS.

On the other hand, MGM Medical College and Hospital of Jamshedpur in Kolhan division is the only support for the patients. People from nearby states Orissa, West Bengal also come here for treatment therefore in such a situation, there is a need for another AIIMS in Jharkhand.
