Banking services hit across Jharkhand during strike

Ranchi, May 31 : Banking service across the state took hit on
Wednesday following the 48 hour strike called by the United Forum of
Banking Unions (UFBU).

As result of the strike lock out was declared across 2,500 branches
of the different PSU banks in the state while ATMs were also running
fast out of cash with some of them already showcasing ‘out of cash’
boards outside the ATMs.

Joint convener of UFBY Jharkhand ML Singh said that as several
rounds of talks between banks and the unions did not make any headway,
the United Forum of Banking Unions (UFBU), an umbrella body of nine
bank unions, has gone on strike against the proposed wage hike of 2
per cent as against 15 per cent given last time.

The strike has resulted in trouble for the traders as well as the
