Sahebganj/Ranchi: ASI Chandrai Soren who had sustained grave injuries while battling criminals in Bodh Bandh under Barhet Police Station area of Sahebganj district died at a private hospital in the capital.
Soren was part of a police team that had gone to search a kidnapped trader during which he sustained bullet injuries in the stomach while battling criminals in the Bodh Bandh area on June 27. Subsequently, he was airlifted from Sahebganj and was admitted at Medica Hospital where he dies on Saturday battling his injuries. In the incident officer in charge of Barhet Police Station HK Pathal had also sustained injuries.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday reached the JAP grounds and paid his tributes to the ASI. He said that Chanrai Soren was martyred while battling the criminals and in the time of grief the state government was with the kin of the martyr and said that the last rites of the martyr would be performed with full state honours.
State BJP president and MP Deepak Prakash also expressed his grief over the demise of ASI Soren. He prayed to the almighty to rest his soul in peace and give strength to the family to bear the burden of loss.
JPCC chief and Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon has also offered his condolences over the demise of the ASI. He said that in the time of grief the government was with the kin of the martyr.
Rural Development Minister and leader of the legislature wing of Congress Aalamgir Aalam said that he was personally hurt with the demise of ASI Soren and said that the government was standing with the family members of the martyr.
