The Mukhiya and the panchayat Samiti member said that since the land was a traditional cremation spot of the village therefore it should not be used for cremation or burial of Coronavirus patients as the infection might spread in the area.
The officials assured the villagers that through scientific methods the last rites would be performed and the infection would not spread. But as villagers did not relent and started pelting stones police used force to disperse the people.
