Amid opposition uproar over land acquisition amendment act, first supplementary budget for 2018-19 tabled

Ranchi, Jul 17: On the second day of the monsoon session of the
Jharkhand Assembly the opposition parties created an uproar over the
land acquisition amendment act and in between the slogan shouting by
the members of the opposition and ruling benches the first
supplementary budget for the fiscal 2018-19 worth Rs 2,596 crore was
tabled.

As soon as the house assembled for the day Leader of the Opposition
Hemant Soren demanded that the land acquisition amendment act be
withdrawan. He was supported by Pradeep Yadav of the JVM and Aalamgir
Aalam of the Congress party over the issue. The other opposition MLAs
who also stood up at their seats said that unless the law was
withdrawan they will not allow the house to function.

They alleged that the state government had without any discussion
forcibly passed the bill in the assembly therefore the government
should bring a fresh amended bill in the house and hold proper
discussion than only it should be passed by the assembly. Speaker
Dinesh Oraon on the other hand asked the MLAs to allow the house to
function normally.

State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda said that
the opposition should allow the question hour to be held as issues
related to the welfare of the people needed to be taken up however the
opposition MLAs continued their slogan shouting stormed into the well
of the house after which Speaker Dines Oraon adjourned the house till
1230hrs.
