Mumbai: Sandra Bullock shared a heartfelt Mother’s Day message for her late mother, Helga Meyer, apologising for being “such a brat” during her younger years.
The Oscar-winning actress posted three photographs on social media featuring moments with her mother from both past and recent years. One of the pictures also included Bullock with her two children.
Sharing the post, Bullock wrote, “To all the mamas, no matter how you came to be, Happy Mother’s Day. We are all bound by this honor of a lifetime. Mom and Omi, thank you for teaching me. We miss you. Sorry I was such a brat.”
The actress joined Instagram last month and had then expressed excitement about connecting with people through the platform. Within just a few days, she reportedly gained over five million followers.
Bullock, now 61, began her acting career with a small role in the 1987 thriller Hangmen. She rose to prominence with films like Demolition Man and achieved major stardom through the blockbuster Speed.
Over the years, she became widely known for films including While You Were Sleeping, Miss Congeniality, The Proposal, Bird Box, Ocean’s 8 and The Lost City.
Bullock is the mother of two adopted children, Louis and Laila, whom she has raised as a single parent. She was previously married to Jesse James and was later in a long-term relationship with photographer Bryan Randall, who passed away in 2023.
