Chief Minister has put an end to the language dispute: Mahto

Ranchi: Education Minister  Jaggarnath Mahto said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren has exposed the politics being played on the language row by removing Magahi and Bhojpuri from the list of regional languages in Bokaro and Dhanbad. Interacting with the media here he said that he had demanded this from the Chief Minister and had raised it in the cabinet also.

On the question of the agitation in Bokaro and Dhanbad for the removal of Magahi and Bhojpuri, he said that if the agitators have guts, then they should show by getting the languages removed from Palamu and Garhwa district.

On the issue of inclusion Urdu in the list of regional languages of all the districts of Jharkhand, he said that Urdu language is the second official language of the state and it is spoken in all the districts. Urdu speaking Khatiyani are the raiyats here while on the non-inclusion of Hindi he said that Hindi language is spoken only in 13 states of the country. However, later he said that he did not want to speak on Urdu and maintained that his dream of removing Magahi and Bhojpuri from Bokaro and Dhanbad came true. He refused to speak on the removal of Magahi and Bhojpuri from other districts as well. On a question, he also said that everyone does vote politics and he got this honor only by the vote of the people.

On the removal of Magahi and Bhojpuri from the list of regional languages, the Minister said that these languages are not spoken in any village of Bokaro and Dhanbad and this had come to the fore in the investigation.

Mahto said that for the general category candidates, it is an experiment to have matriculation and intermediate passed from Jharkhand in the appointment to the third class posts. He said that the state government will see how successful this experiment is and if this experiment is unsuccessful then Khatiyaan of 1932 will be imposed.
