713 Durga Puja pandals of Jharkhand are sensitive – Police 

Ranchi: The police are on alert mode to ensure that there is no disturbance of any kind during the nine days of Durga worship.

According to the zones distributed by Jharkhand Police, surveillance will be maintained during Durga Puja.

After investigation by Jharkhand Police, 713 puja pandals of the state have been declared sensitive.

If we talk about the capital Ranchi, there are 157 Durga Puja pandals here which have been kept in the sensitive category.

Dumka zone is at the forefront in the list of sensitive puja pandals prepared by the police headquarters.

According to the data of Police Headquarters, 821 pandals are being built in Dumka zone, out of which 170 are sensitive.

Talking about other zones, 157 out of 642 pandals in Ranchi zone, 163 out of 779 pandals in Hazaribagh zone, 82 out of 808 in Bokaro zone, 141 out of 853 in Kolhan are sensitive.

All sensitive pandals will be kept under CCTV surveillance and both male and female forces will be deployed.

Many preparations have been made by the police to ensure that Navratri passes peacefully.

One preparation is such that the police have made a list of communal people. This list contains names of 6847 people from across the state.

During the puja, Jharkhand Police will keep an eye on 6847 such people considering them communal. According to the information, people who were active in communal incidents in the last ten years have also been identified by the police.

The Police Headquarters has instructed all the Superintendents of Police to call such persons to the police station and get them to fill the bond.

Special vigil has been asked to be kept in five districts during Durga Puja. These are considered sensitive.

These districts include Hazaribagh, Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Palamu and Lohardaga. At the same time, those people whom the police will keep an eye on considering them communal, most of them are from Hazaribagh.

Their number is 3759.

1907 people in five districts of Ranchi zone, 1876 in Bokaro, 405 in Kolhan division, 449 in Santal Pargana zone and 358 people in Palamu zone have been identified as communal elements.

Many types of planning have been done in the state level meeting to ensure law and order during Durga Puja.

The SP of the district from the headquarters level and the Deputy Commissioner of all the districts from the government level have been asked to ensure that no untoward incident happens.

This will be applicable not only for Durga Puja but also for other upcoming festivals.
