7 cyber criminals involved in fraud arrested, many items including mobile phones recovered

Ranchi:  Giridih’s Third Police has arrested 5 cyber criminals. 7 mobile phones, 13 SIM cards, 1 bank passbook, 2 Aadhar cards, 3 PAN cards and many other items have been recovered from the arrested criminals. Giridih SP Deepak Kumar Sharma gave this information in a press conference on Friday.

The arrested include Niranjan Prasad Yadav, resident of Kishutand of Cyber Tisri police station area, Mantu Kumar, Sachin Kumar Yadav, resident of Bhandari, Chandradev Kumar Rai, resident of Sakho of Deori police station area and Ajit Yadav of Paratand of Birni police station area.

All these cyber criminals have been arrested by the police near Kalwa River in Tisri police station area. SP said that information was received through Pratibimb portal that some cyber criminals are scamming people by using fake SIM cards. After the information, a team was formed under the leadership of Dumri SDPO Sumit Prasad.

Cyber police station in-charge Ajay Kumar, Punee Gyan Ranjan, Punee Gunjan Kumar, Puneet Kumar Gautam, Punee Gajendra Kumar, Saket Verma, Saurabh Suman, Saket Verma, Jitendranath, Damodar Prasad Mehta were included in the team.

The team conducted a raid near Kalwa River and all five cyber criminals were arrested. He said that all the criminals used to commit cyber fraud by deceiving common bank holders by pretending to be bank officials. Besides, they used to withdraw the money obtained through cyber fraud in the name of courier service and on the pretext of a medical emergency.
