639 disabled people received equipment worth Rs 75 lakh in Ranchi – MP Sanjay Seth

Ranchi: Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth said, with the objective of empowerment of Divyangjan, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, distributed assistive devices among Divyangjan through a camp at CRC, Namkum.

In this, equipment worth more than Rs 75 lakh was distributed among 639 disabled people.

Union Minister Virendra Kumar also participated in this program organized under the Adip Scheme through virtual medium, while MP Shri Sanjay Seth was prominently present.

On this occasion, MP Seth said that through these assistive devices, the life of the disabled people will be made easier.

They will also be able to give new flights to their dreams.

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the needs of every citizen of the country are being taken care of.

The objective of organizing these camps is to create a vision for an inclusive society across the country which ensures empowerment and dignified living of persons with disabilities and also provides equal opportunities for the upliftment and development of persons with disabilities so that they can join the mainstream of society.

By joining, they can lead a productive, safe and dignified life.

The program of distribution camps is being organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of India, in which the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India, an enterprise working under the department, has been organized.

Seth said that due to my efforts for the last 5 years, such camps are being organized every year in different block headquarters of Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency.

The happy result of this is that so far assistive devices have been provided to more than 15 thousand disabled people.

These have many state-of-the-art assistive devices, which have made their life easier and better than before.

In today’s camp, the total assistive devices distributed to the identified disabled beneficiaries in Ranchi district include tricycle-148, battery operated tricycle-111, folding wheel chair 65, crutches-150, walking stick-38, rollator-4, B.

T.E (Hearing Aid)-88, C.P. Chair-3, Accessible Cane-5, Braille Cane, ADL Kit (including Cellphone-3) are included.

Through these assistive devices, the objective of making the beneficiaries self-reliant and empowered can be achieved and they can be connected with the mainstream of the society.
