Daltonganj/Ranchi : Jharkhand is in the grip of Heat Wave.
The last 46-year record of heat in the state is about to be broken.
There was a drop in temperature in some areas of the state due to the Ramal storm, but in the last 24 hours the temperature in all the districts has increased by 3 to 8 degrees.
The worst situation is in Palamu division.
The mercury in Daltonganj was recorded at 47.5 degrees on Tuesday.
This is the second highest temperature in the month of May in the last 46 years.
Earlier on May 6, 1978, the maximum temperature was recorded at 47.8 degrees.
Here, in view of the increasing heat, the Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave orange alert in all the districts of the state.
The highest danger of heat waves is in Garhwa, Palamu and Chatra.
Along with this, People of Ranchi faced a major power crisis in Ranchi on Wednesday.
A Jharkhand Vidyut Nigam Limited (JVNL) worker was seen repairing high tension electric wires in Ranchi on Wednesday.
People of Purulia Road Locality facing difficulties in the summer season.

People of several districts have been affected and appealed to remain alert.
The Meteorological Department says that till May 30, they should leave their homes only if necessary from 11 am to 4 pm.
However, relief is expected from May 31.
According to the department, there is a possibility of rain in many districts of the state on June 1.
After the humidity of the last two days in the capital Ranchi, life came to a standstill on Tuesday due to the scorching heat.
The heat of the sun started being felt from 8 o’clock in the morning.
As the day progressed, the temperature also increased.
By afternoon, the situation became such that the forecast of the weather department also started failing.
The weather department had predicted the mercury in Ranchi to reach 40 degrees, but at 3:30 in the afternoon the mercury reached 40.4 degrees Celsius.
This is the second time in May, when the temperature has crossed 40 degrees.
However, the heat was felt more than what the weather station recorded.
According to the Meteorological Department, an alert has been issued regarding heat waves in the northwestern part of the state on May 31.
Whereas on the same day, there is a possibility of rain with thunder and strong wind at some places in the eastern part of the state.
A similar situation may prevail on June 1 also.
During this period the wind speed can remain between 30 to 40 km per hour.
If we look at the temperature of the last 24 hours in the state, an increase in temperature has been recorded in many areas of the state.
The effect of strong winds along with thunderstorms has been seen in many areas of the state.
It has also rained at many places.
The highest rainfall in the state was 6.5 mm in Pakur.
The highest temperature in the state was recorded at 41.5 degrees Celsius in Daltonganj.
The lowest temperature recorded in the state was Giridih, where the minimum temperature was 23.9 degrees Celsius.
Due to heat waves throughout the day in Ranchi, it became difficult for people to come out of their houses.
People started feeling uneasy due to the heat of the sun from 8 o’clock in the morning.
