2.2 lakh homes to be constructed under PMAY in Jharkhand: CM

Ranchi, May 11: Jharkhandf Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that 2.2 lakh homes are being constructed in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana which would be completed in the next six months.

 

Addressing a programme organised for the panchayat volunteers  at Namkum block here he said that during the state formation day week in November people would be start getting their homes. He said that construction of houses would also create job opportunities for the local youth who are being trained as masion, plumber and electrician. Mr Das said that after completing 15 days of training course the youth would be ready to work.

 

He said that the responsibility of the development of the villages also lied upon the panchayat volunteers and the survey being conducted by them is bringing out the real picture of the villages. He said a survey regarding orphans, homeless and widows has been done in the state and for their welfare schemes would be framed. He said that the state government would act as guardians of 18,000 orphans of the state. Among them who are less than 15 years old they would be taught in residential schools which are being constructed in Ranchi and Gumla. He said that skill development of these children would be done so that they can get jobs.

 

The Chief Minister said that the state government was making efforts so that the people of the villages did not have to run after government/block offices for which they help of panchayat secretariat is being taken. He said that the volunteers would help the villagers get the caste and residential certificates for which they are being provided forms and a campaign in this regard would commence from May 15.
